LABOR CLINICS FEBRUARY 2010 – DECEMBER 2010 SCHEDULE
The Guam Department of Labor will be conducting labor clinics beginning February 2010.  The sessions are aimed at providing training to private sector employers, managers and supervisors on what they need to know about labor rules and regulations.  The labor clinics will be conducted at the GDOL’s 3rd floor conference room.  There are no registration fees for the labor clinics.

RECRUITMENT & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

One Stop Career Center – The One Stop Career Center is responsible for administering separate workforce investment, educational, and other human resource programs and funding streams collaborate to create a seamless system of service delivery that will enhance access to the programs' services and improve long-term employment outcomes for individuals receiving assistance. Included in this session are the Guam Employment Services, Case Management Services, Senior Community Service Employment Program and the Disability Program Navigator Initiative.

COMPLIANCE SERVICES

Fair Labor Standards Act – learn about the Fair Labor Standards Act including Minimum Wage, Overtime Pay, Deductions from Pay, Child Labor, Record Keeping and your responsibilities as an employer.

Fair Employment Practice - learn about your responsibility for compliance with laws related to harassment and unfavorable treatment in employment.

Workers Compensation – learn about the Worker’s Compensation Program, reporting procedures and forms used.

ENFORCEMENT SERVICES

Alien Labor Processing & Certification – learn about clearances regarding H2 Workers, Construction/Non-Construction Prevailing Wages and compliance.

Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) - learn about how many work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths occur each year in the United States, what are OSHA's inspection priorities, what's the penalty for violating an OSHA standard and who must keep records of work-related injuries and illnesses.

SPECIAL INTEREST SERVICES

Bureau of Women’s Affairs (BWA)
– BWA promotes the welfare of local wage-earning women, improve their working conditions, increase their efficiency, and advance their opportunities for profitable employment.  BWA will schedule diverse training sessions targeted for women in the workforce.

Guam Registered Apprenticeship Program (GRAP)
– GRAP is a local incentive designed to assist registered apprenticeship employers in the development of a skilled workforce.  Learn how your company can offset the it’s business privilege tax equal to the amount of fifty percent (50%) of all eligible costs paid or incurred by your  company to train your apprentices.
