Statement of Policy

It is the public policy of the territorial government of Guam to protect and safeguard the civil rights of all individuals to seek, have access to, obtain and hold employment without discrimination because of race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical handicap, medical condition, marital status, sex and/or age. Employment practices should treat all individuals equally, evaluating each individual only on the basis of bona fide occupational qualification, unless pursuant to permissible defense as enumerated in the law.

Guam Employment Opportunities Applicant Pool Database Program
ImageThe Bureau of Statistics and Plans in cooperation with the Guam Department of Labor is in the process of establishing a comprehensive employment database that will be used to identify former Guam residents and natives born abroad who are interested in returning to Guam for greater employment and economic opportunities.  In the next few years, the island expects to see a strong in military presence resulting in increased job opportunities to the local and military community. Persons of varying skills and professions will be needed as thousands of jobs are expected to be created.   The information will help officials assess Guam’s labor force market and to determine job skills available to prospective employers.  The Bureau of Statistics and Plans will collect and monitor persons interested in applying and becoming a part of this employment database program.  The Guam Department of Labor will compile and generate a list of applicants with respect to their job skills and/or occupation of interest.
