ImageTotal employment on Guam continued to be quite stable changing little over the latest few quarters. The majority of Private sector job gains are in Retail Trade which increased by 240 jobs over the quarter associated with the Christmas season, and by 470 jobs over the year associated with increasing tourist arrivals. The Finance, Insurance & Real Estate and Hotel industries also gained modestly over the latest quarter and year. Job losses this quarter included Construction (210), and Other Services (330) due to reductions in contracted private base operation services employment. These two industries also lost jobs over the latest one year period.
